I am de-rusting the rear diff and I need to put it back together some time. But I dipped most of the stuff in Evaporust and the Zinc plating that was once on there is now gone.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive way to zinc plate metal parts?

I feel like I asked this once before but I don't care to search. :)

I think what you are referring to is called a dichromate finish. Most metal finishing facilities do this and it usually isn't real expensive for a dip & ship...

A local shop quoted me $200 at least!

CAD is now illegal but it lasts so much longer because of its durability.

Sounds like its time to remove and replace the quote.
