Im planning on getting a new battery and Im undecided if to go with a Red or Yellow top? I did a search here on the forum and some people recommend the red top if you have a system and others the yellow top so Im not sure which way to go. Also is the D35 yellow top the one with reverse terminal and is that the one that fits out cars? Thank you.

If your set on the Optima's from what i've read the Yellow tops are recommended for any type of system, or anything else that could requires extra power like winches etc.

Theres plenty of people running the Yellow Top, im guessing its probably the D35 so it should be no problem. This is another members Yellow Top.

Im just concern because it says reverse terminal.. what do they mean by that? because they have others that say dual terminal which Im guessing is 2 positives and 2 negatives....

Not sure where your seeing that.

But the D35 is the one for our cars. Regular Negative and Positive Terminal.

Red tops have more cold cranking amps than a yellow top and are generally used as an OEM replacement. Yellow tops are better served as a second battery, or better yet just get a Kinetik battery as a secondary battery. Assuming you're running some sort of sound system that requires it.

don't get reverse terminals. our cars are set up for the regular D35. reverse terminals are just where the polarities are switched around. you could go that route if you want to extend your wires for no apparent reason.

I remember a discussion a while back about the new Optima batteries not being as good as they used to be since ownership changed. It might be something you want to research before you buy one.

They got bought out by Johnson Controls back in 2000, but then a few years ago they moved the battery plant to Mexico and some people say quality went down. Some people do have luck with them and still swear by them. But i personally think buying another battery from Johnson Controls would be the same and much much cheaper. Johnson also makes, AC Delco, Autozone, Bosch, Costco, Duralast, Equalizer, Walmart...and im missing more. The Costco Kirland Signature batteries are supposed to be pretty damn good, and a comsumer report best buy, but its not flashy like an optima.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will do a little bit more research and see on what I decide to buy.
