Sup, fellas?

What can I say? Nine years later and I still miss the lion's roar when I'd floor it. The Honda has been reliable and the Dodge V8 is fun, but never had anything else quite like it. I see very few are still around. How long ago did Q45Tech (Dennis) leave?

Anyway, shameless plug for my parts list on the classified forum. I've finally come to the realization that I won't be back in a G50.

Good to see you again! Dennis has been gone for at least five years. He resurfaced occasionally to talk about a turbo G20 that he was working on, but that's been a while too. The old Q's are indeed getting rare. I only see them in the pull-a-part about once a year now. I've been driving mine a bit more lately... more than 1000 miles so far this year, which is better than last year already. My goal is to get a respectable amount of miles on it in a year, so that I'm not draining 1 year old oil out of it that still looks clean next January.

Thanks, Q451990. Good to see you again too. How many miles on that Q of yours? Mine had 228K and plenty of life left in it before I had an accident.

I'm still around. The 91 has been running great for all these years. It needs a new A/C compressor. I'll be easing up on needing a 60,000 mile service sometime this year. Maybe in the fall. The Q has been one of the most trouble free cars that I have ever owned.

Where are you located? I have a compressor in the garage. I forgot to list it on my for sale thread. Pulled it at the junkyard years ago as a spare. If you pay for shipping, you can have it.

I think I'm at about 113,0000 miles now. Still running strong... I think I have a leaking valve cover somewhere, because I'm starting to get a wiff of burning oil sometimes, but I haven't located it yet. They haven't been touched since T3 resealed them in 2003, so I guess it's time.

If I remember correctly, it's a b*tch pulling off just about anything on that engine. You could maybe try torqueing each fastener about a quarter turn. I did that on my truck and stopped the valve cover leaks, or at least slowed it to where it doesn't matter at the moment. If you do decided to replace them, might as well do the plugs. I have a set of the OEMS FS in my classifieds thread. LMK if you need them... very negotiable.

I did something like that on a VQ30DE timing cover that was starting to seep a small amount of oil around the edges. The old RTV must have started to shrink. So I re-tightened the bolts with a small 1/4 drive ratchet. Be careful not to over tighten. It took out just enough slack to stop the leak for the time being.
