Year of a motor??

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

im gonna buy a KA out of a 240 in a junkyard with only 88k miles on it. i know it is at least a 91-94 because it is a fastback w/ the dual cam. Im still curious on how you can figure out the year of the motor w/o it being in the car.

Doesn't matter that much.91 had "hot cams" So that's the only benefit you would get.Can tell by taking off the valve cover and looking at the mrkign on the cams.
