COD4 is getting a new map pack that consists of 3 big maps and a smaller "bonus" map. They will come out probably 2 weeks in to April from what I have heard. The maps are called Creek (large outdoors map), Chinatown, Broadcast (think of the first Marine mission in single player, except with new areas), and Killhouse (small level like the training mission at the beginning of the game). No word on a price yet, but it will probably be $10 on PSN and XBL.

****, I just wrote a semi-long post in the quick reply pop-up window and then clicked 'Close' instead of 'Post'. **** me in the ****box.

Yes, its all multiplayer, no single stuff. Many people have been waiting for some new maps. IW has been pretty tight lipped about them, I cant remember them mentioning anything about maps until a few days ago when they mentioned that these reviews would be done a few days ago. They probably should have pushed them out before R6V2 came out (tomorrow), but I'll still buy them.

You never even play COD4 anymore. Your opinion isn't valid.

I play every night. Something must be seriously ****ed up with my internet then. I can get on and play, but when I access the friends list I get disconnected, its weird. I can play fine besides that, so I dont know whats up.

I just took a quiz on CoD4 on Microsoft's Expertzone site and in it they confirmed that the map pack will cost $10, or 800 points. I kind of figured that I would be that much, but now we know for sure. There will also be a Game of the Year edition for the 360 that will come out soon and it will include a voucher to get the map pack for free on Xbox Live.

EDIT: Just noticed that it also says that the map pack will be released on Xbox Live on April 3rd. I have no idea about the PS3 but I would assume it would come out on the same day.
MS on GotY and map pack wrote:Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition gives gamers the chance to experience the intense cinematic action of the original game while expanding the online experience of 2007’s top-selling game by offering gamers a free token for the Variety Map Pack - four new multiplayer maps that will thrust gamers into a hot zone of combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales. The Game of the Year Edition and Variety Map Pack will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 for 21 days.
MS on price of map pack wrote:The Game of the Year Edition includes a code that allows consumers to download the Variety Map Pack, a $10 value, for free on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
As you can see they dont directly mention the price. This is the only place I could find it.

So the people that made it game of the year don't get a break? Only the late comers?

I wouldn't bank on that. The patch was a couple weeks later on the PS3 than the 360 IIRC.

i'm betting us ps3 owners get screwed again and have to wait, but who knows? maybe the delay is so they both release at the same time? whatever the case, i'm just about ready to play killbox, that level looks freaking amazing

Based on the history of the updates on COD4 (PS3 being last to get them that is) I'd venture that they will be the same or even more delayed on the PS3. Probably more delayed.

ok so the maps appear to up but attempting to download them freezes my xbox, both within game and through the xbox live marketplace. fail on infinity ward for releasing a non working product. just take the damn download off if it's not working. ughhhhhh.

You mean first week of May?

Played the new maps. All in all OK but nothing spectacular for such a long wait. Broadcast is my favorite. A lot of cover.

I haven't actually gotten that in the rotation yet so I've never played it. I heard it's super tiny...

yeah, goes by like nothing now. it helps that the M16 and Extreme Conditioning are given to you from the get-go. that's all I need hehe. and once RDS and Stopping Power come along, it's over baby

I have a feeling I'm gonna LOVE Killhouse. Vacant is by far one of my very favorite maps.
