Can you describe how the suspension in this new condition react to bumps in terms of feel and noise?

no more squeeks, steering feel is soldi and more direct.More buttoned down.

Entire car feels solid on the road like a new car.Of course my car is lowered to begin with and the new struts are Blues all around ,to complement the Eibachs.

Also have a new Tstat and my coolant gauge seems to behave just

I was also amazed how well the car felt after my suspension was revamped..... Before the car felt like it was floating (when it wasnt bouncing)..... Now it feels like the car is on rails and firmly planted on the ground......

Im sure with those 17s on the front with sticky tires its nearly unbeatable!

Altiman, consider the Koni's & they'll be the last set you'll ever (have) to buy.

Their lifetime warranty is no joke, had a set warranted after 12 years of abuse with only producing a receipt & my registration to prove I still own the car.

KYB AGX & Tokico Blue's...........one year.

If only Lee Grimes (Motorsport Director at Koni) would consider tooling up even a Red strut for the Q's...................

Of course the strut bodies on the Q are too small diameter to incorporate a Yellow (adjustable) just like the Sentra/200SX........ dammit.

Fred, that is great! I got Blue's from the wife, for Christmas. I have not bought the upper links, yet, but I do have new Tension Rods.

I might spring for the new upper links. Haven't decided, yet. I have put 72,000 miles on the car, in the last 17 months.

The steering feels quite solid, but the car "floats like a butterfly".

You can always do links later.... They only take about 15mins to replace once the tire is off.....

Altiman, yes, they are, go to koni-na.com for more info. The fronts are inserts (more labor to install) but well worth it.

The relationship between the AGX's & the GAB Super HP's is not what they eluded to. (KYB produced the GAB's under private label, but the AGX was not built to the same specs)

I've had Koni's on every car I've owned in the last 20 years, never bought a single unit twice. ;)

Fred,

How old (miles and years) were your old struts? They weren't orginal were they?

Heavyduty's comment about the blues lasting a year is not very encouraging. Shouldn't they last more like 2-3years or 30-40k miles?

I think they last longer than a year but keep in mind that they are often paired with lowering springs which wear shocks out quicker.

I think mine were 3 years old but included extremely hard driving on track running 500+hp Most of my handling improvement I credit to the new upper links actually.

Although I understand the handling is greatly improved by the suspension parts replacement I would like to understand how a Q45 is supposed to sound when travelling over bumps and pot holes. Certain cars like Jag's for example are very quiet even when the wheels fall into a fairly large pot hole.

My active Q is very comfortable but tends to crash when a wheel hits a pot hole and the back end is rattly when going over semi rough road. As mentioned in other posts I am thinking of replacing the usual suspect parts such as upper links, tension rods and various bushings but it would be nice to know how a pristine Q actually behaves in terms of suspension noise over bumps?

My one year comment was warranty, not life of the unit. Lowering springs reduce a shock's lifespan, but usually not much more than 1/3 that of a stock spring.

I like the look of my Pro-Kits, but enjoyed the stock spring ride much more.

rover3l, maybe it's time to look at the other accumulators also.

No rattles or crashes with a conventionally sprung Q45, unless you are doing Dukes of Hazzard kind of nonsense.

Mine clunks a bit, on harsh bumps. When it gets below freezing, the upperlinks get noisy.

New struts, tension rods, accumulators, and upperlinks are waiting to be installed. I am sure this will tighten up things, a bit.

Sorry, not the accumulators, I was thinking about the strut boots and all the bushings for the strut replacement. I typed accumulators. I've been working way too long, today.

It is a Std, non-active. Although, I would like to get my hands on an active rear stabilizer bar...
