I know! Fortunately, I have relatively high-speed access at home, so it did not take too long - under an hour or so.

I plan on installing it tomorrow (after a critical presentation I have in the morning ... do not want any mishaps on my laptop in case anything goes awry with the install!)

interesting, because it came out at least 3 weeks ago. and i've had it installed on all of my work and home computers for at least 3 weeks now.

its only 75MB because it determines what your computer needs, before downloading some more

The stand-alone full install is larger as a result. Note that you can get the update on a CD free of charge from Microsoft (no shipping costs either) - there is an order page available on their web site. Of course, you have to be a legal owner of XP! :)

funny, I downloaded it on my computer when they posted it on the intranet at work... then 3 days later they sent out an email to everyone saying not to install SP2 because they wanted to test it or something. Brilliant.

Yeah, there are a number of programs that do not work well with it. It is best to check out this list on the Microsoft web site before doing the install ...
