I have parents that spoiled me, and whenever people give me **** about it I tell them to bite a d1ck. You're telling me that if your parents did the same for you at my age, you'd turn it down? ***** nah you wouldn't, and you know it. Typically people that have to work for what they have learn a lot more responsibility than people that are given them for nearly nothing. There are ups and downs to everything.
Now my parents haven't really spoiled me, but they buy things for me every now and then. Now, though, its different. I'm 19, and I've held a steady job (with downtimes between jobs being less than a week) for 3 years. I buy everything I need by myself now, because I don't need them to buy it for me.
Parents rule, sometimes. I've been researching street bikes recently, and decided I wanted to buy one. I live with my parents, and don't pay rent so I figured teh responsible thing was to tell them I wanted to buy a bike rather than just doing so and riding it home with or without their permission. By talking to them about it first, they realized I was responsible enough to own a motorcycle, and now I'm going to have my very own 98 cbr 600 in a few days, thanks to my $3000 savings that I've earned over the past few months.
What's my point? Being spoiled isn't a bad thing as long as you realize that sooner or later it will end and you'll have to buck up and do it all yourself. Once you're there, you'll appreciate everything you buy with your own money way more than the things that were bought for you.
