i still frequent new haven quite often as i have many family members who refuse to move out of that s*** hole. and most of them wonder why i'm getting a gun
Timay, there are clearly other cities with more violent crimes reported than New Haven, but when measured as a percentage of its population, New Haven is numero 4 in the entire country this past year. Now I'm sure if Tita had actually kicked Nala in the ballz (as he promised) instead of just peeing in his dorm room this past year, Hartford might have scored a little better.timay wrote:Sure the stats that come in for New Haven put them in the top 5 of dangerous cities, but, I don't even think New Haven is the most dangerous city in CT. I am helluva lot more scared of Bridgeport or Hartford, I was up off Asylum St in Hartford today and I think that is a much much worse than anywhere in New Haven. Stats can tell you something, but not everything.
If this was an opinion poll, I'd put about 20 cities ahead of New Haven as more dangerous.
i dont even go downtown drinking / fancyfoodeating anymore . . . place used to be nice. so many intimidating beggers (the ones that get in your face and dont leave you alone until you walk far enough or give them something) and the 'bad' sections have just straight bled over into the good portions. the place is a s*** hole now.timay wrote:Sure the stats that come in for New Haven put them in the top 5 of dangerous cities, but, I don't even think New Haven is the most dangerous city in CT. i'm not entirely uncomfortable in new haven, being that i grew up there and still frequent the dump quite often, but i still tend to be very aware of whatever environment i'm in when i'm there.RobPaulson wrote:timay wrote:i def feel safer on the streets of bridgeport than NH
I know NJ is crazy about gun ownership. What are CT, NH, and MA like? Kinda off topic, but did you guys see the thing about the guy in Phili that had a conceal/carry permit and was wearing his gun on his hip? He got messed with by the cops and got the whole thing recorded.krimsonviper wrote:But you can't legally own a gun.

I'm in different parts of New Haven, Bridgeport and Hartford atleast once a week, in the worst parts, working in factories and the like. I'd rank from worst to not as bad like this: Hartford, Bridgeport, then New Haven...now don't get me wrong, these places are all pretty much on the same scale of "bad", but I feel more "safe" in any part of new haven. Not by much though.RobPaulson wrote:EDIT: LOL i got ranting and forgot why i quoted timay. i wanted to ask when the last time you visited NH was? it has gotten much, much worse in the last 6-8 months. i live right outside of bridgeport, and tbh, its nicer than NH in general nowtimay wrote:Sure the stats that come in for New Haven put them in the top 5 of dangerous cities, but, I don't even think New Haven is the most dangerous city in CT.
