Yakima rack question

Alright, I'm no stranger to racks. I've had my Yak for a long time with no problems. Anyhoo, I just got the q-clips for the Versa, installed them, and installed the rack to proper measurement. The clips don't seem to fit as flush as usual. Not sure what's going on. Anyone with a Yak rack know anything I don't? Thanks.

When I was looking into roof racks, the tech at Nissan told me to get the Thule because the Yakima had fitment problems and people returned and complained about them.
