If YouTube reviews can be trusted, it appears that the Y63 Patrol comes standard with the rear differential locker that is available in the Y63 Armada Pro-4X.

Unfortunately, Nissan did not make the rear diff locker an optional upgrade on the other trims.

How feasible would it be to install an OEM rear diff locker on one of the other Armada trim levels? After all, there is a button/switch being unused on the center console where the rear locker switch would normally go.

You can wire it up easily enough if you get the right connectors, electrically it's pretty simple. The complication is the CANbus, the Diff Controller talks to the ABS, 4WD, and cluster. You'll probably need to change the software in the ABS and 4WD for it to work right, and you may need to rig a separate indicator lamp if the cluster doesn't know what to do with the signal.

Do you think a dealer would be willing to attempt an install?

Not sure I want to go messing with the ABS in my garage on a new vehicle still under warranty.

Sure would have been nice if Nissan would have made the locker an optional add-on from the factory in all trims

You won't find a dealer to attempt it for exactly the same reason, if something broke and the vehicle wasn't "as designed" there would be coronaries and conniption fits in Corporate. The only way my dealership might do it is with a book-length signed waiver and replacing the Chassis and Main harnesses, not rewiring them. If you really want it, your best bet will be to swipe all the needed parts from a wreck (including the diff and Diff C/U connectors), replace the stuff wholesale so all the right software is there, then just string the needed wiring along the existing harnesses.

Oof. That's more than I would want to bite off at this juncture. Maybe as the vehicle ages it might be worthwhile but going to pump the brakes for now. Appreciate the insight.
