I have a 2006 Fuga V8, wondering if anyone knows are all steering racks the same between V6 and V8?

Further, I’m told I need p/n 49200-EJ00A when currently all I can find locally is a 49200-EJ70A. Pouring over diagrams. I can’t see any differences between them.

There were 3 different steering racks offered over the years. I'll add the original part numbers offered for the US models.
  1. RWD. Both V8 and V6. 49001-EH100
  2. AWD V6. 49001-EH110, -EH11A, -EH11B
  3. AWD V8. 49001-EJ71B
Those part numbers represent a fully assembled unit, and are shown to be discontinued in some cases. I only offer them as a reference point, but you'd need to chase down the superseding parts for the latest and greatest part numbers.
For the US models, the gear assembly only (power steering gear minus the tie rod ends) seems to be offered with up-to-date part numbers.
  • RWD. Both V8 and V6. 49200-EH10A
  • AWD V6. 49200-EH11B, -EH11C
  • AWD V8. 49200-EJ71B
As to whether they are compatible and/or interchangeable, that I do not know. I haven't dealt with enough racks yet to know what the structural and functional differences are.

Good luck, I hope that info proves helpful in some way.

Ah yes, I only had the RWD in mind. I forget some folks have AWD. Also another point is, and it's because it's been done. But the G37 sport rack is a bit quicker than ours and has been swapped into our cars before Sure you could do a search and find the posts about it.
