So I was over 100 miles from home when my Idler Pulley bearing seized up and actually spun off at that point I lost water pump and Alt. I couldn't find one quickly (it was sunday evening) So I tried the next best thing I bought a 20 something inch shorter belt and just ran the alt water pump crank, and tensioner. I was surprised at how well it worked.

Amazing! Thanks for sharing Gene.

I'm gonna keep that part number in mind. 505K6-BZ...6PK1285

It will be useful on an engine test run stand for some projects.

More useful than you intended I suppose, but it helps me in 2 main ways.

1st intention
I'll buy one and keep as a spare in the car in case I lose my AC compressor (not common to us, but anything is possible)

2nd purpose
When I do engine replacements, I remove the power steering pump and AC compressor and tie them off to the side, leaving them in the engine bay. When the engine has been worked on and is ready to go back in the car, those 2 accessories are missing.
My current project is the last engine replacement job I'm doing for a long time, but for my other projects down the line I'll be running a self-supporting engine. So I'll need a way to keep the water pump and alternator turning with the crankshaft; which is exactly what you have shared with us.
