Has anyone done the auto to manual transmission swap?? I know they make adapters for put a 5 speed transmission from several cars.. I just wanted to know if anyone has successfully done it in the Y34 M45, and not just a power train swap to another car.

I've been here a while and I don't remember seeing anyone accomplish that but maybe EdBwoy does...

I haven't heard of it either. For the guys that got the y34 as a Gloria, they had shared engine options with other cars and I've seen manual swaps, but I don't think any VK45DEs have been mated to manual transmissions.
Well, kinda. There's a drifter with a Y50 M45 and a manual trans, but you bet the budget they are working with is in a different league. Chris Fosberg is his name.

My recommendation is to follow the q45 swap for approx dinensions, as well as the fx35 swaps as that is a little more complex than G35 or 350z swaps (share the same engine but at least those were offered in manual)
Then note these terms: CAN & CANBUS. I'd be lying if I told you I understood what they are, but I know I've seen them thrown around when such manual swaps for newer Nissans are discussed.

I have had this discussion with several in my local infiniti/nissan groups, the 350z 6 speed is a good mate, however the firewall where the clutch master cylinder should sit is not suited for it, it isn't a flat straight place, the q45 has a ideal firewall for drilling the hole needed and bolting the clutch master up but not the y34 m45. This doesn't mean its not possible it just means you have to use a "race" style clutch master that would be bolted to the clutch pedal assembly inside the car then just run your clutch hydro line out through a hole in the firewall. I want to do that at some point as I think a manual 6 speed would suit the Vk45 very well
