So this applies to the Y34 but perhaps the 2nd gen as well....
Look closely at the temp gauge (in good light) before you crank the engine. Look about half way up the sweep area of the needle for 2 tiny little orange dots.
Apparently this is where the temp needle will sit under normal operation. My needle goes to the dots & stays there. I'm speculating on the purpose of the tiny dots but can't think any other reason.
Almost as interesting as the cutout in the passenger door arm rest for the trunk/fuel fill release as a JDM model.
