Hello,

My "new" 2003 M45 has gotten to be my favorite car. So sexy. However, i recently changed all 4 rotors and pads. They work great. But ive noticed that under full throttle i hear noise, almost clicking, from both rear wheels. It almost sounds like shoes and drum parts clicking around, but all looked a-Ok when i was in there. Does anyone have any similar experience?

Thanks, will have my f50 steering wheel installed in a week or two. Found wiring info just to find time. Will post up a walkthrough when done.

Congrats on the New To You car!

Did you get that steering wheel going yet? Looking forwards to the build!

Thanks! Unfortunately had a very sad week and watched a close friend lose his long health battle after 4 months of Life support on and off Hell. He went holding my hand today...

...which brings me to a hollow hole in my heart I need to fill up with fun projects and spare time! Can't wait for the M to open up with the weather. I have a few issues with it already that irritate me I need to address.

a) the Rocking front seat, need to tear down and weld, maybe get recovered.
b) tire pressure indicators every 1/8th time or so I drive the car register all *** and then are fine the next time. I am getting sick of seeing the indicator and want to know what is causing the problem. I understand they have batteries, perhaps one or more units are dying/dead?
c) the purpose of this post an annoying bracket like sound comes under heavy wot and slow bumpy roads. It's a sound like no other I've heard. Doesn't sound like a big deal though.
d) Check engine light keeps coming on for the code that is either (as i recall) gas cap/EGR solenoid of some kind. Guess I have to replace the solenoid.

I love how it drives. the 3k on the highway is a bit odd, and seems inefficient. This car would surely be a monster coupled with a 7 spd. But it is still extremely quick, and traction is an issue under heavy WOT. Great car. For $5,000, my friends and clients drool. They think it's a brand new car, and when I tell them it's a 2003, they still think it is a $15,000 car.

I am trying to find the one piece rainguards, JDM only, but they are getting scarce. I would like new, I see used for $175.

Would like to paint sideskirts, and lower rear trim to match car, having them factory black gives the car an "uppity" look, I find this is why the black y34's are so much sexier than the rest, because they "look" 2" lower with the same colored trim.

Love the car.
Miss my friend.

Bah!

Man, sorry to hear about that. Having never been through anything like that myself, all I can offer are condolences.

At least you're dealing with it well.
I honestly don't know a damn thing about tire pressure monitoring systems, but I'd venture to guess that they're wired? No idea. maybe the connections just need cleaning.
The bracket might be a clunk from the sway bar end links or possibly a bad exhaust hanger. Could be plenty of other things, too, but those are a good place to start.

Take a peek at our FSM's that are available at no cost to NICO members. It might help you track down the TPMS and gas gap trouble.

I've read they're wireless... On phone will be on it this week.

Thanks, was driving earlier sorry for the brisk reply. No, they're wireless from what I've read. Not really a way to wire it while the wheel spins...

They transmit at a certain frequency which I forget, somwehere in 300-500 mhz I think. That is why the car displays 4 pressures, but doesn't tell which is which, because (at that time) the TPMS systems could only receive the 4 pressure figures but not identify them.

But if ONE of them was failing...I would imagine just that ONE tire would read off. But as I said frequently it's all 4. Drive the car 5 minutes off on NP back in business.

Will look at FSM and see if I can figure out the logical break. After a few too many enthusiastic WOT's this week the knock is worse, so I think it's time at 110k to order all parts and do whole rear end. Front too, but I learned from my Q, these cars take more abuse in the rear that you'd think. Esp alignment adjustments!
