I'd like to know what you carried over is it just the caliper bolt on and done?

I found some backing plates for a q45 at my local junk yard want to put them on my 240sx since you can get Z calipers so much cheaper than the whole setup. Plus if I decide to do the WRX bremos with the EVO rotors.

I hope the inside drum is the same or for that matter the whole rear rotor. It would really simplify things for me.

So what ever happend can you use the rear rotors and calipers from the Z and keep the parking brake?

Gotta know I don't want to buy Z calipers and rotors just to find out how bad I screwed up.

One has to ask what is to be gained with the Z32 rotors? Greater mass? Maybe the Z32 rear calipers will mount over the stock rotors? Again, what is the advantage?

A two piston caliper whats there to ask?

The J30/Q45 rotor is thinner so its not too smart to use the Z caliper

I already have the J30 setup with vented rotor but I don't want it I much prefer fixed caliper. I've driven one car for about a year and a half that had 2 piston fixed front and smaller 2 piston fixed in the rear and never had a car with better brake feel.

Every sports car uses fixed caliper for a reason floating calipers can probably stop the car just as quick and sometimes quicker but are much harder to modulate I'd like the drum setup to keep my ebrake and since I have J30 backing plates why not use them. I'm already spending alot more than I can.

All this is going on a 240sx if I didn't mention earlier.

Z32 rotors have greater air space, so less mass per dimension. Given the same material, greater mass => greater thermal mass.

Since they are not on a Q45, knock yourself out. Why not go AP Racing?

"Why not go AP Racing?"

Sponsor me and I will lolz

Its just about money thats all. If I had the extra dough I'd just go with twin turbo Z uprights and backing plates change my car over to 5 lug get wilwood rotors and get exactly what I want then make some nice fancy calipers fit the way I want. Hell I would go 6/4 setup if I could but whatever.

Actually I think I'm gonna just go with a 350z brembo package rotor and a brembo caliper from an evo. or I may with the Evo rotor too.

I already got used brembos calipers for up front with new SVT Cobra rotors. (330mm) I hate to custom fab the drum but I think they are very similar on the 350z so all I gotta do is copy. Maybe it will fit who really knows. I emailed some people who sell rotors on ebay so we'll see what happens I don't mind a little fabrication but I hate for this to be never ending heck maybe I'll go hydraulic ebrake and just sell off the parts I got.

sweet...... so finally got around to getting these brakes on. Had to make sure i had everything i needed and it turned out great! what you need to do this is calipers and rotors from a z32. also you need hoses from an '89 300zx and a section of 10mm steel brake line. the '89 hose has both female ends that fits the line from the car and the steel line connects to the z32 caliper. i had to coil the line to get it to fit. I also had to grind down just a small amount of the dust shield for the calipers to mount. y33 rotor diameter 11.48 thickness .63z32 " " 11.69 " .71the e-brake drum is the same as is the height and center hole dia.........now i need some brembos for the front....... 350z/g35 share the same mounting dimentions as the y33........

SRT-8 Charger

Well my brother has a totaled out one. I need to make sure he'll part with a pair before I commit to anything. But thats whats going on front of my 240sx.

They are red and off a 2007 mine are grey and off a 2006 300C but the same thing.

The Evo and STI are better they have bigger pistons but if your not gonna track the car these should be fine and still stop your car better than stock.

If your really after max performance the Evo are better than Z
