y33 turbine sensor problems

can somebody tell me in detail what the y33 turbine sensor issues were about. my transmission has been rough shifting into 2nd and has been since i purchased it 2yrs ago.3 drain and fills has been done already.im getting p0500 code more often now and my mechanic is telling me to replace the speed sensor and that it might make my transmission shift better. problem is im being told by scottsdale infiniti that it has two sensors and i dont which one is the culprit. please HELP.all info pertaining to transmission and vss are appreciated.
