Hello,

I was wondering what type of transmission fluid should I put into my transmission since it's about time to change it. Please be specific with the names

(I am a noobie)

edit: I meant transmission fluid, not fuel

I really like the Mobil 1 synthetic ATF in mine - Nice, firm shifts (after the transmission warms up!).

The transmission holds a little over 11 quarts - make sure you get all of the old stuff out!

Are you planning on replacing the in-sump filter?

Do it all, including O ring, pan gasket and one time use bolts, all from Joe.

Read the posts under flush. And add a B&M ATF cooler (Summit Racing) and bypass the coke can in the radiator.

Mobil 1 Multi-vehicle ATF works just fine. If the label states that it meets or exceeds "Dexron III" specifications, it will work.

I put in Redline synthetic and it made the transmission like silk, it is the only thing that my transmission is going to drink from here on out.

Red Line's D4 Fluid satisfies Dexron III requirements.

Yup, the D4 is what I'm running, good stuff for sure. I noticed shifts are smoother and the shifts are like butter. I never had any issues with the transmission before and this is a 2-4% improvement but with such an expensive repair I figure any added insurance is worth it.
