Bit concerned about my transmission. When I move the shifter into Drive or Reverse out of Park I can feel it engaging as expected but it just seems a little too severe for me. Sort of a mild jolt.
Checked the fluid hot and it is right on the middle of the hot side of the dip stick. Fluid seems clear in color not red and not brown or dark at all. It has done 64,000 miles and does not have a transmission cooler and I do not know if the fluid has been ever changed

Id look for an independant guy (rover, you have a local mechanic, yes?) that could do this.. Give them a little extra $$ to make sure they do it right.....qship96 wrote:replace with mobil 1 atf soon,as it should be bright red!get 14 quarts and start looking for a shop with a exchange machine-most quick lube places have one and if you watch them carefully ,can do this easily.
MIght as well go big and do the filter and pan too!
