Speaking of President -- what up with the lace seat covers?

It looks like some president has been "getting it going" in the back seats..

The seat covers are to keep the grease on your hands from the eggrolls from soiling the interior.

Qship, right back at ya. you got the weakest F50 they made, head to head the 97's has weather better, was more reliable and is way better looking. So you keep telling yourself that too......Not like I bought this car yesterday, more like 11 years ago.

I have a g50 [the only true q45 ever built}, not a f50........and the 97 in particular was the worst of the worst series, a polished turd.I beg to differ on reliability based on my personal experience with over 280,000 miles of pure pleasure......how many miles on your buick wannabee cima so far?

Like I said, you are fooling yourself....and only yourself!

This is fun!

Why was the 1997 Q45 the worst of the series? I do admit though your (Qship) driving style and the way you maintain your car is amazing. The FGY33 look great exterior wise but thats about it for me, That and the many upgrades to the interior and drivetrain, brakes, engine, and Air Conditioning (A/C) system. But to be fair the 1994-1996 Q45's look too happy for me almost like every Mazda since the 90's. I hate happy face on the outside of a car. I belive cars should look intimidating and have a drivetrain to back it up.

qship96 wrote:Many dont realize {or choose to forget} that the original q45 was created by using nissans very best, top of the range model in its lineup.....for the 97-2006 models, they based the "q45" off of one of their cheaper JDM platforms {the Cima} in an effort to save $$$$$$........while the "original" vehicle the G50 was based on remained nissans top level platform in Japan for many years ........

maybe chevy should rebadge some camaros as corvettes and market them in japan.................. SAME THING......

The Q died in 1996.

Above is actually a "royal" limo that Autech produced. Autech was the MAIN company that produced G50 series limo's in JP. I want one of those grilles. "Higher" than impul for nissan.... They also "supertune" many japanese brand vehicles...

Well I am not going off reviews, my 97' has been completely totally bullet proof. Why the worst, sounds like you had a bad experience but mine is completely different. I have had ZERO issues as in none. Just wear and tear. Love the car, great year, nuf said from my end. I am happy I didn't bit on the very tired body style that the F50 offered, nor the issues I have seen people with 96's have that my car hasn't. Opinions are like a@@ho#@s, everybody has one and mine after 11 years of great ownership is unlikely to change. Glad you think the 97's is a turd, and I'm glad I don't have a 96.

Plenty of people love their Accords, camrys, and even sentras too, so it does not surprise me to hear you love your q41......but compared to the original, it is just not quite in the same league. You know it, I know it, hell even Infiniti knew it.....remember when Infiniti pres. Mark McNab admitted that "Infiniti isnt really operating as Infiniti right now" regarding the lackluster model in a interview? The 02 was suppose to return the Q to its roots after the q41 mistake,It was a HUGE step in the right direction, but as we all know it was too little too late for Infiniti to recapture the flag in the publics eye as far as considering Infiniti as a serious maker of a flagship sedan. Sad,but oh so true.

Ya know, your air of surperiorty is great for someone with a car worth about $1500 bucks on a good day. Sure, my car is just like Camry or an Accord, RIGHT! Agree to diagree without throwing your little Camry and Accord bull...I drove a 92' for 6 months, nice car, way way way too many problems and body style DATED!!!!!!!!

Here I thought we were going good. But I must also admit when I see a 1997-2001 Q45 I have a hard time telling the difference between it and a 1996-1999 I30, As far as the front end is concerned. Not saying the I30 is a bad car just that Nissan could have made the Flagship stand out. If anything the FGY33 Q45 looks like the LS I saw today.

I saw a 1989-1994 Lexus LS400 (Green exterior with a beige interior). I must say the exterior is not impressing at all. But it does have ground effects which look like the Impul kit for the Q (845S) and no rust anywhere (Why Nissan Why?!?!?). Still I prefer my Q45 to a LS400.

My Q is worth: $2,070 on a Friday says Kelly Blue Book.

Somebody with a 1999 sentra and a 1984 disco dan 300zx really ought to not talk about "dated designs"........or actual cash values!!!!!!!

But , I am done with this thread. It was fun while it lasted, and really, meant no harm from it.......I am not mad at you,but at Infiniti for getting derailed from their original mission and core values.

You are welcome to throw in your final thoughts and we will close this little session of friendly jabbing !!!!!!!

Motor on.....slowly.

Me too and my 300ZX is a beauty in mint condition and 99' Sentra is the wife's car anyways. Grow up and expand your world to some new designs. You would EAT your WORDS if you ever saw how mint my 84 300ZX is..but again, I'm done too. I love my car, you like yours, done.

That's true. It is too bad the old President site isn't still up and you could view all the options like these lace (and there were more) coverlets.

Did you know the 90-93 model hood ornament with the Japanese Cloisonné enameled flowering vine is to bring good luck to the owner?

The vine on the Q45 Cloisonné emblem is supposed to bring the owner knowledge, happiness, and much felicitation like the deigns on the Japanese scholars box below.

I wonder why the Q45 hood emblem was designed for the US market? I guess Infiniti really wanted to appeal to a market segment that was knowledgeable about fine art from the Orient.

Ah well - I kinda figured there is some secret message encoded in that fancy hood ornament -- so sure enough there is.. :gapteeth:

The buckle did bring me knowledge but happiness not so much. I have to take up some welding classes to fix both rocker panels. Ask Lino how much happiness that belt buckle brought him. :rotfl
