Has anyone changed out the sub-frame bushings on a Y33 . Scottsdale is telling me that the bushing is not available apart from the sub-frame.

Can someone confirm while I am waiting for an answer from Joe?

I think he is right.

Some G50 have switched to polyurethane, but 3 of 4 T-3 customers went back to used subframes. Not cheap, so you know they couldn't tolerate it.

Yeah you cant get new subframe bushings. If your wheels/tires are balanced OK, and you currently have no driveline vibrations you'll probably be OK with poly bushings. IMO swapping in a used subframe is expensive just for some bushings.

Itd be nice if they made solid rubber bushings but they dont. If your having problems, you might try the subframe spacers. Dont know if it will help that much but at $60 you could try it and if they dont work resell to a 240/300ZX owner.

Thanks.

No real problems yet, the ride is smooth. I am starting to replace rubber suspension parts, and what I had thought was a creak coming from a strut mount turned out to be the sub-frame bushing when I got the car up.

If it's leaking, you really need to plan on acquiring a good subframe.

They were not USED SUBFRAMES they were brand new subframes of which we have 1 left................nearly impossible to find in US.

Subframes with silicone filled isolators have a limited life, many fail after 10-12 years, depending on local conditions.............. and the amount of protective maintenance [Wurth Rubber Care] to keep them from cracking and splilling their goo.

Usually the mounting tabs and the frame itself bend, changing alignment,,,,,,,a 1/16th here and there is enough. I found this out when I replaced mine along with new rear camber arms............suddenly back to perfect midpoints.

I did not see any silicon upon inspection.

silicon = sand and semiconductors and solar cellsSILICONE GOO is found inside tension rods and the front two bushings of 90-96 Q45/ J30 rear subframe.............Y33 never wasted my time looking. I assummed it would leak eventually [after 10 years] if there was any and then I would know for sure. Not explained in FSM.

Rear Subframes Q and Y look ~~ the same, just differences in width due to differences in rear track width.
