I've decided to replace the struts on my 97. It looks like the strut unbolts from the strut tower and then the spring is compressed after strut removal. Correct?-Any special hints?-Do the spring compressors that Autozone rents work for this type of strut?-What else needs to be replaced while this is out?-How long to Y33 struts last?

Be sure to use a sharpie or something to mark the spring's position, the cap's position relative to the spring and the seat's position relative to the mounting holes in the fender.

Other than that, you'll need to disconnect the wire/weather pack for the wheel antilock/speed sensor. It runs through a hole in the fender and then has a disconnect point just inside the engine compartment.

Don't try to remove the sensor from the wheel, you won't get it out without damaging it.

Good luck, it's not too tough to do.
