I have searched a good bit and found some info about the plug change on our cars. I also contacted the dealer about the cost for them to do it. Around $800.00. I could not believe it. I have pretty good mechanical skills, is it that tough a job? I have ordered the plugs from Joe already. Would someone who has done it list the tools needed? I have most tools, but if i do undertake the task i would like to have all my bases covered. Thanks for the help.

Time consuming it is. You need a good calibrated torque wrench. Anti seize lube. I did the whole plenum, EGR valve, IAC valve, TB cleaning at the same time to save repeated labor and to get back to as new intake path cleanliness. Be sure you have all the gaskets.

Why does infiniti have to be so shady? How much money do they need to make?

Brian, I'll be doing this within a few weeks, can you elaborate lightly on what is involved, and what parts are needed? Thank you.

Infiniti/Nissan doesn't set dealership prices other than the suggested retail of parts............................HOWEVER, dealers actually tell Nissan they wish to double the parts cost therefore Nissan just follows their desires.....give or take.

You could have bought a MB with 16 spark plugs on V8. or a Audi V8 where the entire front of car gets removed to change the timing belt.

Had it done on mine a while back my local dealer. Don't remember the exact cost, but I know I would not have paid $800. I will look in my file when I get home and see what they showed as the labor time.

I bet not 1 in 100 infiniti tech uses a torque wrench when installing plugs,or most other bolts, including lug nuts

i don't know whether any other dealer mechanics are any different, but i have had particularly bad experiences with at least 2 different infiniti mechanics
