I have worked on Ford, GM, BMW, Honda, Toyota, and now my Q and this is the first time I can't find a safe lift point in the front of the vehicle. Please enlighten me.

On the frame rails where its double thickness. Youll see it do a turn down from the engine compartment near the exhaust manifolds (sorta) and right there its double thickness, you can jack it up a little behind there and put a stand there.

For the rear, i put the jack on the subframe and the stand on the frame rail where its double thickness.

Welcome to NICO!!

From what I understand the adaptors they refer to in the diagram were never produced. I was advised to use hockey pucks by Kent Moore tools (who would have the adaptors if they were made).

I would download your FSM from http://www.phatg20.net

Do read the FSM. Lots of good information. Then the TSB and all the posts by Q45tech in particular.

You know, I've never really found a good place to jack up the Q with a floor jack. Everytime I do I feel like it's starting to crush that rail. I've got an extra infiniti sizzor jack that I use to jack it up, then put jackstands underneath.

I am comfortable putting a floor jack on the rear diff, but my jacks too much of a puss to jack up the heavy q from there.

Good information from all. Thanks. I tried downloading the FSM a month ago but phat's site was down. Rear diff works for the rear, and I think a piece of 2x4 on top of my floor jack at the point elwesso mentioned should work fine for the front. OldSkhl.

There are two other places mentioned over a thousand times on this board.

You must be more persistent is you don't want to flunk out of old school.

There is a couple of places called T-3 in your town. Learn about them for your own financial effectiveness and your car's health.

About the downloading?

I am hoping to purchase a Q45 sometime soon but as of yet not sure what year model.

I am wondering about downloading the Q45 FSM from the site mentioned in the above quote. I have visited the site briefly and there is a request? for a donation? not that I am against donating? for services rendered but if no donation? no download? What's da deal?

I am on dial-up. What am I faced with downloading the FSM seeing that there is mucho info in those manuals? I spend lots of time reading these forums and sometimes, depending on the time of day, I abandon the effort as it's near impossible to move in and out of sites.

I am not the most computer savvy dude by far but I do understand pretty much "how stuff works" and have managed to flounder my way around.

Thanks. Jack

I have all the Q FSM's on my computer, so if you'd want me to send it to you on CD via mail I can do that.
