Hi everyone

After searching and not being able to find anything I decided to post this up. Any help is appreciated

I have a 2000 Q45 80,000 miles

Today I had a biatch of a time starting the car the engine would turnover and stumble, after two goes at it I started to pulse on the gas and it reluctantly started up.

It runs fine and it was smooth all the way to work although for the past month or so it has seemed a little jumpy between shifts. I took it on a blast down the street not wot but I got the revs decently high and it ran smoothly no hesitation. Also the idle when stopped at lights was fine. Now I’m wonder whether the girl will start up when I get out of work

What do you guys think, injector, filter?

We could guess all day long, or you could confirm the problem by investing in 1 hour of a professional Infiniti trained technicians time.

I'd rather not, thats why I posted this on a forum and didn't instead make a call to schedule an appointment to the nearest infiniti dealership.

Thanks anyways

sometimes if the throttle body is gummed up it will close off the opening for ait to pass through, this will cause a very rich start. sometimes it will flood the engine. the best way to start a flooded engine is to floor it and crank it for 2 min at a time until it starts. you can get a fuel induction service done and that will prevent hard starts. i noticed that the y33 model throttle gets sticky when you first press on the accel pedal and that is from a gummed up throttle plate. if the throttle plates on your veh are clean then look elsewhere.

What in THE h*ll are you doing on an online forum for then?!?!?

To offer a real answer, it sounds like the car was flooded. If it doesn't happen again then that was probably it. The owners manual has a whole section devoted to starting a flooded engine which surprised me because I didn't think it was possible to flood an injected engine-weird huh?

You tell us!

Frequency of BG44K? Frequency of OEM filter change interval? Proper OEM specified sparkplugs? Tier 1 Premium? ISO-Heet? Any codes thrown? Gas in oil?
