My 2000 67,000 miles anniversary edition has developed a creak from the rear. It sounds like a rubber component noise and creaks every time I apply the gas from a stop which I presume is due to something being compressed.

I crawled under the car as far as I could and rocked one of the wheels back and forth while the parking brake is off and I can definately hear the creak. It is really difficult to pinpoint but I am assuming it is a suspension or subframe bushing.

Has anyone else had this and is it a specific bushing that is susceptible?

Have to hope it is the shocks, or the spring mounts.

If you don't see a sticky fluid emanating from one of the bushings, you may be in luck. Getting to be about that time at 67K.

My 97' had 85k and rear shock was leaking badly. Do you have the adjustable suspension? It sounds like a bushing to me, there are some rubber contacts around the shocks that could be the culprit.

You might take it to a dealers for one of those freebie inspections they offer, I know it is painful to pull in and report a problem as they put down $75 to put a paper floormat in your car and drive it into the garage. Luckily the Q suspension is not that rare and you should be able to get any good Nissan mechanic to check it out.

If yoiu don't have the adjustable suspension you should start to get replacement shocks and front struts. They only sell stock ones in the US which are oil filled and pretty expensive. I just put on KYB SR Specials, which are the most amazing upgrade you will ever add to the car, but you need to get them from Japan, it will be about $700 bucks and 2-4 months from the first day you decide you want them to arrival of them. Do a search on Onetongarage as he's the guy that got them for me.

Good luck...

7 years is a long time to wait between shock replacements!

The longest I've ever gone was 5 years and the most frequent was 4 years. By 60 k they all are done done done.
