I would try k and n but be warned they give better air flow because they block less things in the air that can possibly hurt the engine so i would go with OEM if you don't want the risk.

There is no air flow pressure difference between an oem, a K&N dropin, or just removing the air filter period. The engine just doesn't consume enough even at redline to be significant.

If longevity of rings is important the finest air filter you can buy is a good investment and that is the OEM AirFilter.

They are inexpensive form Joe and will not deposit oil on your MAF Sensor wires.

Do take some time to read the previous posts here and you will learn a lot, including how to save money while obtaining the best performance.

I had a K&N but I threw it away about two weeks ago. There was a study with different air filters (on this site some where) to prove which one best...which was AC Delco and K&N came in last. OEM are cheap from Joe but expect to pay $10 in shipping. I was able to come across a AC Delco so that's what I have in my car now even though I do miss the sound of my car with the K&N.

Here is the site..... http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=180100

you can still use ac delco as a cold air intake just cut a whole in the air box and I have heard it sounder even louder which is BS cause what would make it sound louder.

If you order several of them at a time, toss in a few OEM or Mobil 1 oil filters (which Joe also has good prices on), and round it off with an in-cabin A/C filter (which you probably need anyway), the shipping charges come to less than a buck per filter - Probably less than you'd pay in sales tax alone from a local parts store.

Filter changes are annual or more frequent. So buy a year or more worth at a time and shipping is minimal. Good thing to do when he has shipping specials.

That is true. That's why it's best to order multiple items instead of one item at a time to make the shipping price worth it. Oh, and I do need a cabin filter badly. I hated the stinking, sour smell from A/C last year. Saw it on there for $28. I plan on ordering cabin filter, strut mount, and maybe some air filters from him. As far as oil filters, I'm going to stick with the cheap but very good SuperTech oil filters. For $2.50....you can't beat it.

I wish I would have taken advantage of the $5 shipping special he had couple months back.

I don't think I have ever seen them included in any filter test. At $4-$5, M1 from Joe is a steal for a $12K engine.

I'm debating wether or not to get the M1 filter, or an OEM filter, what exactly makes the Mobil1 filter better? Oil stays cleaner for longer time?

My Dealer called me and said they have Air filters for $13 Cabins for $32 and the oil filter for $7 so if you're ordering on a small base, and don't like shipping, you might wanna at least ring in your dealer and ask how much they charge.

Well, it's made by Champion Labs....the same people who makes M1 filters. I think a lot of people do agree that ST filters are good especially for the price.

I saw a post awhile back on BITOG where someone cut open a used SuperTech oil filter and examined how well it stood up to some of the more expensive filters. They gave it a up especially for the price. And with my OCI, it's perfect.

I dont' think that the filter will help you oil stay cleaner, I'm quite sure it's just superior to filtering oil and M1 filters are need for longer OCI. $32 at the dealer.....well, that's where I'm going to purchase mine since it $28 from Joe. I don't have to worry about that shipping charge. I already have a good air filter so I'm good right now. But on my next order from Joe, I'll throw some of those in.
