mass air flow sensor = Throttle Body sensor ? are they the same thing ?

It is not the Throttle Position Sensor, if that is what you are asking.

NO! The MAF is usually a foot or 2 away from the TB towards the air filter.

Having a *.pdf copy of your years FSM is mandatory to study the relationship between components.

damn the MAF is like 400 bucks.

I'll just try cleaning it first.
