Y33 Headlights Restore Before & After pics...

My headlights were looking awful, so I was looking at getting them restored while I was in Alabama. They became very hazed after the ice/snow/salt weather we had in Oklahoma the past year. After talking to the people who restored my headlights back in 05, one of the guys told me about a product that's OTC that worked well. He told me about Meguiar's PlastX. He said if that didn't work the way I wanted, he would re-do mine for free.

Well I must say that I am well pleased. My headlights looked bad but after spending about 20mins on each headlight, I am pleased with the final product. Pics below...Just for the record, both headlights looked identical with haze...

What are the odd's I got the same stuff for my sisters GMC truck at autozone, I had to decide between that and some other unheard of stuff so I went with that stuff.

Hope it makes a great Christmas present, Just kidding I got here something better.

How much was it there? I bought it from Wal-Mart for $5. Yeah, I didn't think that It would work that well!!! I thought that I was going to schedule a appointment with him tomorrow, but now I don't have to. The guy told me to clean it once a month so that will be my regular schedule from this point forward.

Did you remove the headlights all together and open them up? If so how hard was it to get the lens off Ive heard they need to be caulked on the inside where ever a crack is to make sure it doesnt come back

you can get great results with this product by hand.

excellent product that also works on the plastic rear "windshield" of soft top convertibles (ex miata)most miata owners buy new pieces for about 120 on ebay, but this stuff works great on those too

sad - the other day i was getting a tint, and this guy had hazy headlights. the tint shop convinced him if he wanted HIDs then he should get new headlights as well since they wouldn't come through as clear w/ the old plastic.

i wanted to tell him about plastix, but didn't get a chance to before the guy left.

This is a great product that you can complete with just a clean microfiber towel, hand and some extra time. I didn't have to open up the lense or use a buffer. All of the haze, weather damage is only "skin deep", so once you rub off the dirty residue, it reveals the clear lense. This product is great. I just did my sister's car.

I will make sure to use this product once a month from this point forward. I car looks soooo much better from the front now.

hey BUDDY, looking good! i had some plastx at home so i just buffed them out. They look 10x better now, but i would like to some sanding to get them even clearer. also the hid's are nice. I cant wait till my new bulbs come in. OEM bulbs just aren't bright enough. So i ordered a set of 8000k D2R's and a set of 8000k H3's to match. I also ordered the driver side headlight today too. Since i have a 98 i had to do a lot of electrical work to wire up the 01 headlights. I wired them up so that the low beams stay on when i hit the high beams.
