My 2000 Q45's left headlight does not always work. It may quit while driving, not come on at all when lights are turned on, and if not working, may work if I turn the lights off and then back on. Do you think this is a bulb problem, or maybe the igniter? I don't see any problems with the wiring. Also, how do you go about replacing the bulb?

Should have included: Xenon, HID headlights.

I've had almost exactly the same problem with the HIDs on my 02 Q45, just less frequently, may once in 50-100 start-ups and it always start after turning off for 10-15 seconds. I initially thought it might be moisture related, but I come to the conclusion it's in the start-up circuitry.

Do you have the standard halogens or was the this the Xenon setup? The Halogen's were pretty simple to replace, the Xenon I am sure will be much worse.

either way sounds like your have a short, unless your a talented mechanic I'd take it to someone, this fortunately is something any competent mechanic could fix quickly and easily.
