I've been looking at Y33's lately (Wes get up off the floor), and would like to get some geographic perspective on pricing.

If you can, please provide me with a couple examples of For Sale (or recently Sold) Y33's in your area. List Options, Miles, Cosmetic condition (pics would be great), color, aftermarket/upgrades, etc and asking price (or what it sold for).

Other "nice to haves"> Color combos (best, worse, hard to find, etc)> Pics > Touring Package> AE> Racoon headlights> Is 2 tone rare or unwanted? (I like the white over grey )

And share any other info you consider important when you were/are looking at Y33's.

Yes, I realize this is all moot without a complete and thorough inspection, but it's a starting point for thinning the heard .

There are still lots of lower mileage ones out there, look for one sub 60k if you can. I like the AE model myself, if you're not in a hurry I'd wait for a lower mileage one in AE form. You'd also get the last of the Infiniti warranty.

Mandatory with t and ae models along with blacked grill strakes. Looks best on dark colors, IMO.

London Grey is rare. IPQ is also for tha model.

Look at autotrader and cars.com .

There was an under 100K 1995 G50 here.

I thought raccoon eyes (including HIDs) were on all 99-2001??

I hope to start looking for a Y33 this spring...

I just purchased my 2000 Anniversary Edition last weekend. London Grey color, tan interior. Has 78,000 miles and I paid $13,500. Car is very clean. I think I came away with a pretty good deal. Has all options but the spoiler. Did not realize this was considered and rare color.

The ae package is essentially a t with the 2001 interior with maple trim.

Never seen one without a spoiler.

Being a dealer, I can give you Black book prices (car dealers Bible)

The book only goes to 99 but this is what most dealers should have into a car. KBB is worthless.

Loan Value.. X_Clean.. Clean.. Average.. Rough

99Q45Add $300 T model $9295 $11750 $10950 $8950 $6750

00Q45+500T+600 Anniv $12520 $14850 $14050 $12050 $9850

01Q45 +200 Nav+700 T $15895 $17950 $17150 $15150 $12950

Hope this helps.

Locally, the 97-01's range from a low of $6500 as an opening bid at Public auctions on a 1998 with 90k, to a 2000 with 59k for $17500.

When I shopped for my Q, I looked for what appeared to be the best one around, regardless of the color, it just happened to be black.

Always the best strategy. Shop condition and service history before color, year or trim.

Good info guys. I really appreciate it, especially the number Q-Ship.

Condition maintenance history and price will be the top 3 factors in the overall buying decision, but I'm leaning towards 99 or 00 and really like the 2 tone white over silver/grey, solid (darker) grey or the medium green color. I will not own another black car if I can help it. Too demanding for my tastes .

These are the top 3 (no particular order) in looks in my book .

Just a bit of info on color. The 2000 AE is the only Q produced in two tone and the colors were only white over silver anything other would be an after market paint job. I sold Infinitis from 97-02.

Interesting. I prefer the all white anyway to the two tone. I do like the middle London Grey.

wow, that two tone is sharp. First I've seen one of those.

with $9,000 to $15,000 to spend I would buy a 94 or 95 and do every thing to bring it to new:

Acquisition: $3,000 to 5,000Suspension/tires/etc. $5,000$3,000 spray

Spray?!? You'd paint over Q paint? You're insane.

Without an eye blink! My 91Q Cream color paint lasted till I sold it but there's one I see all the time around town here and it looks like crap---faded looking etc.

My 93 beige went to 217K and the paint was a wreck. I felt like I was driving a total beater.

My 94 dk blue with 130K looks fine from 20 feet away but up close looks bad--hairlines/tree drip spots, etc.

Now mind you, I would only spray if I had a garage and if the paint was bad to begin with!

Peter
