I am having code P1400 and I think it has to do with the EGR solenoid.
Has anyone know where and how hard to remove the EGR solennoid?

It's buried under the intake manifold. Not easy to get to.

However, you might want to look at some basic diagnostic procedures before replacing it.

Download a copy of the Q45 FSM (available at www.nicoclub.com/FSM). Get the one for the year of your vehicle.

Go to the EC (Engine control) chapter, and one of the first items bookmarked is the list of diagnostic codes and what to do with them.

Find your code and read read read!

Good luck.

Thanks Paranoidjack!

I have the FSM, but the picture of where the egr solenoid is not very clear. I thought it is somewhere under the egr valve, but apparently they tuck that thing under the intake manifold.

The car still driving fine, it is just the annoying engine check light on the dash. I have checked the egr temperature sensor and the egr valve. They both work fine.

Has anyone removed the solenoid valve before? What is the best way to get to it? Maybe from under the car is better?

I will have to look, but I bet it only requires the removal of the log upper intake manifold and not the lower runners provided it is not buried under that assembly.

The lower runners house only the MAP/BARO solenoid, which I am fighting with - upper only, you are right Max.

You'll be removing the intake manifold if you want to change it, but it's not a bad job. Just make sure to PLUG THOSE HOLES. You'll see those steps in my thread (which goes deeper) through removing the lower runners and replacing the knock sensors also:

Paranoidjack, Look really complicated. I will wait until I need to changing something like the knocking sensor or something to remove the intake manifold. The car still drive perfect with the code p1400.

yeah - you're right in that it should all be done at the same time.
