Ive been keeping my eyes out on ebay, and right now there is only 3 94-96 for sale, and NO 90-93

I am fearing that the 9093 Q are going to become VERY hard to find, as now they are getting higher in miles and slowly dying off.....

Rarity, parts costs, and a lack of people qualified to service the vehicle. In time the original Q will be a classic!

[Warning: Unrelated rambling ahead.]A similar but devious thing happened to the Mazda 929. Nice looking RWD car with decent power and handling effectively killed by Mazda (I believe they intentionally jacked up parts prices). You think parts for the Q or a 7-series or S-class are expensive? Theyre even more for a 929... and most owners with a hint of common sense couldnt justify such expenses for a car with a small interior, the brand appeal of... well... a Mazda, and a 205HP V6.

I almost bought a 929 a month ago. It was a 56k 93, in absolutely perfect condition. The only reason that I contemplated purchasing it was my friend co-owns pretty much the largest Mazdaspeed distributing business in the states, and could hook me up with the MS struts- the only ones that are now available- for a good price, in addition to all sorts of impossible to come by goodies. Unfortunately for someone else, they bought it first, meaning that car will be in a yard within a couple of years.

There were a lot of 90-96 Qs on Ebay when I started looking a few months ago, but they have pretty well dried up. The Q I'm still looking at here- a 94 T Black/black with 64k on it is slowly dropping in price. He's down to an asking price of $8499 now, he seems to be going down 500 every two weeks. If everything goes well, in a couple weeks I will make him another offer. I hate paying almost $8k for the car, but it's 60k is already done, and he has complete records from day one, the first owner sent them with the car.

I do like the look of the 97s, but they just didn't have the same character that the earlier ones that I looked at had. Nice cars though.

I agree...

IMHO the Y33 is more like a nissan made by infiniti... The G50 is more like an infiniti that is made by nissan...... The G50 is just truer, IMHO, even with cheap fake wood.....

Ive seen some pretty rough ones, but even then where its not dented/scratched, the paint is usually ok and the interior is OK except for the seats and stuff....

Despite everything, the Q really stands up to abuse pretty well..... DONT use me as an example!!!

I have seen some pretty sad cases. I went and looked at a 94 Q with 66k on it when I first started checking out the big Infinitis. It was a New York car, and it had been beaten VERY severely with an ugly stick by its previous owner. The car ran and drove well, but there wasn't a panel on the car- an ugly brown color- that didn't have a good sized scratch or ding. Even the roof had a few good marks. The interior wasn't bad, just the usual ashtray stuff, except for the passenger seat, which looked almost like a dog had been riding around in it. The car looked like it had never been waxed, it was fading in a lot of spots, something that I still haven't seen in another Q. Sad, sad car.

There was a really nice 33 up in Seattle, Black/black with 50k on it for 12 flat, I couldn't bring myself to do it. It is now providing somebody great transportation, but it wasn't my car.

A couple of weeks ago there were plenty of first gens on ebay. 94-96's are pretty common on ebay though. If you buy a newyork Q the first thing to check is the suspension. There are no smooth streets left here.

Depends if you are talking about JDM models or USDM Q45 models based on the Cima.

Most don't care, just like to see themselves post. It is their self-affirmation.

Posto ergo sum.

Unfortunatly we'll never get clasic money for ours. I saw a green and tan, I think 94, Q45a, with the gold kit in Brooklyn today. I hate the the gold kit. It was dirty and sad looking. The active had to be working because you can,t drive in NY with a dead active suspention.
