This is for the 99-01 y33's with these headlights

I was just curious to see if anyone has tried to make DRL's out of the high beams (well not make the high beam bulb a DRL but maybe replace or retrofit another bulb with a lower watt bulb & rewired it so it acts as DRL's and turns off when the headlights are on but still keeping the high beams)?

I have not seen anybody try to do them, of course you'd have to figure out a way to by-pass the auto headlights so that you can turn on the DRL and have it turn on standard lights.

Honestly, just turn on the darn lights and call it a day and spend your money on quality fluids and start to save for coil packs, valve cover gasgets and new shocks/struts. There will be plenty of money to spend on the car, I just do not think DRL is a good spend and no easy simple way to do it either.

I have beena around this board for many years and never saw this subject come up.

Oh yeah forgot about the automatic headlights. I figured it would look nice to have a drl come on. But yeah I'm most definitely putting my money towards replacement parts.

I don't know how you'd work around the automatic headlights without turning the switch to the ON position to begin with. Nice though, but with cars of our age just keeping them running in factory new condition is job one :)

This would be a pretty cool mod though...well to me it would aha. But yeah, having it running in tip top shape is what I did when I picked up my Q
