Check out this cabin filter! This has to the original. Thanks to Maxnix for the idea to change it.

P.S.Check Infiniti classifieds for genuine Infiniti cabin filters (slightly used).

kinda makes me wish the G50s had them, all that dirt at some point in time goes through the evaporators on non filtered models.

Seems like if you could find the air intake you could cut up a cheap air filter and stretch it over the A/C intake.

On another note, I just replaced the cabin filter on my wifes Volvo with one that is charcoal "infused" supposedly to filter smells as well. I looked for a charcoal for a 97 Q but couldn't find one. Anybody ever seen one?

The Q filters werent charcoal like others... They may have been in later ones, but not in the Y33.

1.) Cheap filters don't do a lot, and it has to seal or it will be no good.

2.) The FY33 and later filters are HEPA type filters. Charcoal not required. Annual replacement, like the engine air filter, is.

I think it's almost comical how worried about them people are. This is the first car I've owned that even had an air filter at all! What in the world did we all do prior to air filters? I think I'll take mine out and just breathe unfiltered air like we've done for thousands of years. (just kidding, I'm not really gonna do that) I drive with the windows down as much as I can, I love the fresh beachy air around here (some smog I'm sure lol)

Yeah, our nasal passages and lungs are filters besides oxygen exchange devices. Any help is good. Why it is so dumb to smoke as it is very difficult to change out you lungs.

Id just like to have something to prevent the evaporator from getting so dirty.. not really that huge of a deal, however its just about as easy to clean the evap every year to keep it sparkling.

Well, I guess the value might depend on how much time you spend in urban areas.

Lots of dust and pollen in rural areas also.

True, lots of dust and pollen, but like I said above, we drove cars for around 100 years w/o air filters. I leave my windows at home open 90% of the year, no filter. I spend lots of time outside, no mask / filter on my face. The human body is pretty tough, I don't have asthma, I don't get sick (been 2 years or more since I even had a cold *knocks wood*) and I don't even get allergies any more. Wife has asthma though, so we did the Hepa filters at home, but don't even bother much with them either. I like the car air filters though, the air somehow smells fresher.
