As long as you stay away from the Maxima (2001-ish) that aren't standard double DIN, any 97 and up Double DIN Nissan/Infiniti Bose HU should plug right in to your Q.

Look for the "rare" 6-disc Double DIN unit .

Rare? The past 4 Pathfinders I have sold have the 6 disc changer in them.

Was it the all in one single piece unit? or the double stack? or the in dash, but over by the glove box changer?

If you want to use the radio from 96 thru 98 - they should be the same CN423 / PN-2121 model. My CD player in 99'Q went south and I've replaced it (CN588 / PN-2261K) with the CN518 / PN-2261D from 98' Maxima and the steering wheel controls didn't work even with the connector being in place. I've ended up swapping the CD player part between the two and everything works perfect now. Hope this helps.

the one I'm looking at is CN435,PN2121NB and I believe mine is CN423/PN-2121 so they should be pretty much the same, right?Cheers!

They were double stacked.

Do you have the steering wheel controls? That can be the only area of incompatibility.
