Anyone has the adjustable tension rods on their Y33 ? My left caster is little off @ +5.2 degrees vs min + 5.7 max +7.2. Right side is fine @ +6.7.

I've installed the new rods - part numbers RH 54468-3h071 and LH 54469-3h071. The factory rods seem to have the different lengths.

As a result, the car pulls to the left side.

Here is my old thread, did not want to resurrect it:

Does it mean that I can put the 240/300ZX factory parts? I'd rather keep the stock ride.

What makes you so sure it's the tension rods causing the car to pull? If you are convinced they're not the same length, measure them. If they're new, return em. When was your last alignment?

I'm installing a set of Stillen adjustables this weekend. Tried last weekend but Stillen didn't send the necessary bolts with their $300 set of rods....bastards. Instructions said to use the original bolts on the old rods... so... after trying to beat mine out with a hammer, I called Wess and he informed me that the damn things are pressed in....they're actually more like studs. Another 9 bucks spent at the hardware store and I have the bolts that I need. I'll never buy another thing from $tealin.

I've had the alignment done 4 months ago. Here are the numbers:

camber: LF: -0.7 RF -0.8 min -1.4 max +0.1caster: LF +5.2 RF +6.7 min +5.7 max +7.2 ==========> crosscaster is 1.5toe LF +0.06 RF +0.07 total 0.13 min +0.03 max +0.13

camber LR -1.2 LR -0.8 min -1.3 max -0.3toe LR +0.03 RR +0.06 total +0.09 min 0.00 max +0.23

those arent bad, but i prefer to go with name brand since the tension rod takes ALL the force upon braking.

I'd agree, as just cause it looks thicker/stouter doesn't mean it's made with the same quality materials or to the same standards. Doesn't mean it's not, but the trouble is there's no telling ... unless it breaks when you need it the most .

I remember a post a long time ago that said the SPL tension rods have a dynamic load capacity of 24,000 lbs or something like that.....

I'm going to order the TEIN rods - PTN20-11S00. Their japanese website http://www.tein.co.jp/ptrod2e.html has Y33 on the list of applications. PTN20-11S00 is the part #.

Finally got the rods installed today. I guess I'm the first Y33 owner here with adjustable tension rods! The ride is little stiffer, but controllable. The caster is +6.3 on the left and +6.4 on the right. The left pull is GONE. Thank you guys for help. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
