Rear liftgate will not stay u. What is the typical fix?

Had a front passenger side door interior panel replaced today and now liftgate will not stay open. Is there a electrical connection to the engine compartment for the rear liftgate through the door panel?

mechanical part, definently not electronically controlled on an xterrarear hatch struts need replaced, just too weak to hold anymore5 min fix
