I have 04 2wd 3.3 v6 AT xterra and I have to replace the drive shaft. I am looking for torque specs and any other help on this.

Thanks New Guy

its really no problem to pull and reisntall the driveshaft. 4 bolts connecting it to the diff and then pull it out the tcase/tranny.

i don't know for sure, but i would think 80-90lbs would be sufficient for tightening the driveshaft down. might not hurt to put a little multi-purpose grease on the slip yoke when reinstalling.

I don't have the torque specs either, but have done this several times and basically just tightened it as much as I could with a 17mm wrench. You're not strong enough to pull threads on there with a standard length wrench.

As stated, 4 bolts. Very easy. If possible, back the truck up on ramps to do this to avoid gear oil dribbling out the slip yoke hole. If not, have a catch pan handy.
