xterra 3.3 please help!! misfire

Ok guys heres whats up im brand new to posting on forums and whatnot but they have helped me alot so im givin it a shot. i am officially lost.. i have a 2000 xterra 3.3 4x4 manual i was driving on the highway about 60mph or so and my timing tensioner broke obviously making the motor stop a bunch of knuckleheads convinced me that i may get lucky and just have to do a timing kit. so against my better judgment i did and it ran like total poo so i then tore it down and went ahead and replaced all the valves and timing kit head gasket kit etc.. got her back together and it is running slightly better than before but still like total poo at idle it has a very hardcore misfire idling up and down almost to the point that it dies im almost positive i have it in time. i have also replaced all plugs, wires , distributor , and belts does anyone have any ideas where i need to do from here i know i have gone about this all wrong i just wanna get it back on the road again... any help is greatly appreciated

Have you hooked up a vacuum gauge while the truck is running? A lot of times that will point out things that are not obvious to the naked eye.

thank you for the reply. i actually went out and tinkered with it a little more after this post and found i had forgotten a vacuum line. stupid mistake. i suppose i was in to big a hurry it started running 100% better after altho i still have a little bit of a rough idle don't seem like its much more than some rough plugs or fuel filter "i hope" this truck is driving me crazy lol
