SOOOO, i bought and xtd clutch kit, stg 3 6 puck.

and i installed it.

and it slips.

in many gears. now after reading all the threads that show up when i serach xtd clutch, i hear they slip at first, but they grab later. I was just wondering if anyone here has any break in expertise that they can offer. I am 100% sure the slippage is due to the clutch, so let me know people.

after 3xx miles of breaking in, is it normal for these things to still slip like a slut on sausage floor?

I just got mine broken-in, the first 300 miles it was like an on-off switch, I would ethier chirp the tires or almost stall the motor(sr with 3"ex., cone filter, 1piece ds,and nismo mounts 200+whp). Now that it is broken in its not so nerve racking in stop and go trafic, but if I give it a little gas going into second it will always burn ruber. So sorry to say I don't think yours is good, did you resurface the flywheel(my motor only had 30k and the flywheel looked new so I didn't bother), maybe your slave cly isn't engaging all the way?

Is there any slop in the pedal at all?You may want to check the pedal adjustment as that determines engagement for the most part.

Did you remove the clutch damper? It will sap your clutch pressure pumped from the master cylinder.

It's an ebay clutch, rebuilt and resurfaced, with little to no QC.

There's bound to be a lame one in the bunch.

Hmm, now that i read this im gonna post my situation.Ive got a ka-t with the ACT 6 puck Sprung and i was told by ACT themselves that i had to SLIP the clutch into gear a few times and that would break it in completly. So i did slip it about 5-6 times in 1st gear and it held 8 psi just fine, but when i cranked the sucker to 12 psi.... it would NOT hold at all. It slipped so bad it was not funny. It did the EXACT same thing with my old act stage 1 street disc. But at least that disc held 20 psi temporarily until it slipped off. This new 6 puck wont even hold 12 at all.. Some have told me to do the 300 mile break in, act says 5-6 slips. I also put in new flywheel inserts since i was putting in a new clutch, in only made sense.

So old cluth held 20 psi for a tiny bit, then i changed out the flywheel inserts and put in new HD plate with 6 puck disc and do the act recommended 5-6 slips in 1st and im slipping in all grs at 12 psi.... Hmm.......... Now im 50 miles into the break in period..

one other thing he could check also is to mae sure he has the right throw out bearring assembly. mine was slipping at times or grinding and eating up throw out bearrings. and it took me 4 diff times to finally figure out that the assembly was to short i got a longer one and it works fine. i have an xtd 6 puck stage 3 lutch kit from ebay. works fine now no problems and im almost stock.

UPDATE:Its been 130 miles into the break in process and a buddy of mine was driving cause my left foot got hurt at work when he asked me if i adjusted the pedal after the clutch install and i told him no that i have never done that. Even after 3 clutch jobs we have NEVER adjusted them and we never had a problem. Even with 300+ ft lbs on a stage 1 clutch it never slipped even after the break in...But this 6 puck would not hold. SO he adjusted it to remove that slight 1 inch of free play and we took her out and she held 22 psi solid all thru 5 th gear..!!! So we dont know if it was just more break in needed (130 miles worth) or if the clutch pedal needed to be adjusted.. Just keep in mind from 15 miles to 130 miles i NEVER boosted the motor, just N/A driving to and from work. When he got into the car, thats when the motor 1st saw boost since the 15 miles it had originally. So now im happy

That 1" of free play would be the slop I was refering to. Dont be surprised if you have to get down there and do it again in a few months.
