xs turbo manifold

ok now i know this manifold sucks as is but i heard on ka-t.org they sent it out to a weld shop or muffler shop and had it gusseted welded better and cut the part that goes to the motor but they didt reply back to it to see how it worked you guys this this is a good idea to do?
