XM vs Sirius - Which one is better?

I'm considering upgrading my Pioneer headunit with one that is either XM or Sirius capable, but I don't know much about satallite radio so I don't know which one would be better. I'm sure it's up to personal preference but I'd still like some input guys, which do you guys like better. Oh and if I do get a headunit that is satellite radio capable, will I still be able to get my local stations or do I have to kiss that goodbye?

if you get a xm/sirius ready HU all you have to do is switch inputs from fm to xm. you will still have your radio. as far as my preference, i would take xm over sirius. xm has more music channels, but sirius has more sports (including nfl). both are gonna offer you the same basic service so im sure you will be happy with either as they are both better than regular fm radio.

if you have any other questions about it, feel free to let me know. i was installing mobile audio/video until recently and have done many satellite radio installs.

I have Sirius, and compared to my cousin's XM it is a lot better. Sirius offers everything for one price, and Im pretty sure XM has different packages you subscribe too. I never lose signal, reception is always clear, I have had no problems at all.

my boss likes XM. But if XM doesn't have metal i don't want it, so my vote goes to siruis because of that

i just got a pioneer 8600mp and it kicks *** it is xm and sirius ready i work for radio shack and we have sirius and a friend of mine has xm and i think sirius has more and better music channels but get the 8600 its worth it
