Does anyone know how to swap XM for Sirius. Why is it that the Maxima gets the choice between the two, but we get stuck with XM. There must be a way since both the coupe and Maxima are Nissans. I read you can take a unit from another Nissan that has Sirius(Maxima) and use adaptors to makes the connections. I don't want to keep using the external Sirius reciever when I should be able to connect through the factory equipment.

I wouldn't bother looking to switch to Sirius as this point. After the merger you'll be able to use what you already have.

I'd like to do the same and this whole merger thing has been going on for the last 2 years. It seems that the FCC doesn't want XM subscribers to lose any services that they already have. Knowing Corporate America, Sirius is trying to monopolize the satellite radio business and once the merger does happen, I wouldn't doubt it if the rates stay the same and Sirius starts to offer "packages" to it's customer. But with the FCC involved, they can't do that. I myself have sirius in my other vehicles and I think it is much better than XM. My subscription just ran out on my XM and decided not to renew. I got sick and tired of hearing those damn dinovite commercials!..as opposed to NO commericials on Sirius.

i just cancelled my subscription to sirius...not that I didnt like it but since I couldnt get it in the Altima I decided to wait until the merger and get it then. I want to get the stock unit though because I like the painted antenna.

I do not have the navigation unit, just the bose package. And no I don't want to wait for the merger to go through. It is ridiculous to wait for something like that when it can be fixed now. It will probably not even happen anyway, if it were going to it would have by now.

oh, I just noticed you have an '08, what I was told about the 08's was that they were going STRICTLY XM. 07, like mine, had a choice. I swapped mine, really easy. You can try it, but u will be our a few bucks if it doesn't work. Basically all you need is the Sirius module and swap it with the XM in the trunk under the deck. then you need to take the plastic off of the antenna connection, cause it won't fit otherwise, so you just have the metal showing and just pop it in the tuner and ur done. But if Sirrius is not an option for 08's, I doubt you will be able to do it.

Did you ever find out outside this forum if it is possible to swith from XM to Sirius? Just bought an 08 Altima Hybrid and would like to make the change myself. I'd appreciate any info.
