A few people have raised concerns with changing XM to Sirius.....It's not advertised, but you can get Lifetime for your current XM or Sirius receiver and the "Best of" the other for $500...but today is the last day to sneak in a lifetime sub without the $2 a month music royalty fee...It goes into effect tomorrow!....also if you get lifetime make sure it goes into effect today(so there's no risk of a later account change affecting the $2 royalty fee), not after the trial runs out, they'll also pro-rate your account and give credit for the "unused" days of the trial sub...I got over $30 off.

So the deal is pay $500 bucks and you have a lifetime subscription? Just want to be clear on this.

Thanks for the info.

It's $400 for the lifetime of whichever radio you have, and another $100 to add "The Best of" for the other...you still have to call "your brand"..and both have the same offers......1-888-539-SIRIUS (1-888-539-7474)1-800-XM-RADIO (1-800-967-2346)

....and yes lifetime....of the company of course...........the last lifetime I bought for sirius panned out vs monthly payments, I'm getting it for "free" now ......it's pay a few years up front and get the rest for free, if your willing to take the "risk".......would have xfered the sirius lifetime to the new car, but I don't think they would let me(sirius account XM radio)...and one catch to lifetime in car is it stays with that radio for life(unless stolen or broken)...lifetimes on "portable" radio the lifetime is xferable upto 3 times @ $75 per xfer....altho I was able to talk the guy at sirius into waiving it considering I had to buy a new "best of XM capable radio" in order to add it....so XM was just over $500 and sirius was $107 +$65 for the new sirius receiver ..just under $700 I wonder how much of that goes to Howard?....but now we'll both have both in both vehicles(ha) and her's can still come inside during sports if needed(they don't stream the sports channels online, only music)..Anyways....I obviously recommend it!

That 'lifetime' may only be until XM Sirius goes belly up.

Last time I checked, XM Sirius still wasn't profitable.

We're sticking with the short-term renewals (asking for, and getting deep discounts).
