Hi again everyone! So, I picked up this wonderful 2006 M35 about a month ago from a friend whose mom has passed and he did not need/want the car. Has only 109K miles (a little old lady deal) for $5k and was really maintained (even got my new dash last week because of the recall

) . Has the tech package and has XM (the fin antenna on top of the car to confirm

). So my son tells me that XM is free this week (for the holiday week) and I have been debating to turn XM on again so I figured, let me give it a shot. I go to the M to switch to the SAT / XM mode and it does not show up. So after googling, I read on some thread that if you disconnect the negative cable on the battery for 10 minutes and reconnect, that "should" fix it? My questions are:
1. Will that actually get the XM to show up again?
2 Most Important:, by me disconnecting my negative battery connection for 10 minutes, am I doing any harm, will I have to reset anything, etc?
Performing #2 isn't worth the risk if it will cause havoc on my M. Thoughts? Ideas or suggestions?
Thanks again!
