XM SAT MODULE LOCATION
XM SAT MODULE LOCATION
I have a 2008 M45S and I'm trying to find the XM Satellite module. I have checked in the trunk on the passengers side below the deck lid and it is not located there.

If you did not find it there, you likely don't have one. Do you have a SAT button on your radio? Or, if memory serves me correctly, if you push the "Radio" button 3 times, does it go into SAT mode? If so, does it play the preview channel? If not, then your car is SAT capable, but not SAT ready.

That's what's throwing me off, I have XM Radio, preview channel and everything, just can't find the box.

According to the FSM, you cannot reach or see the tuner from the trunk. You have to remove the rear seat, both trunk finishers, and the tuner is on the passenger side under the speaker in that corner. If you access the FSM - (link is in the FAQ I believe) you will see instructions in the "AV" section on page 506.
If you're goal is to change to a newer tuner, the one that came with your car cannot be swapped fdor a newer unit (I already asked).
If you just want to activate the existing tuner, the front screen will give you the tuner ID# that XM requires to switch it on.
