XM Sat activation (2006 Infiniti M45)

I recently purchases an 06 M45 and I want to have the XM Sat activated. However, in the literature that came with the car, I don't see a step for how to identify the car for the activation (perhaps something missing in the documentaiton or I just missed it).

The only other Sat kits I have had have been aftermarket, so I've always had box numbers to call in to the sat radio supplier.

For anyone that has done this, just curious as to the procedure.

For instance,

Do I contact XM and provide VIN? or the Sat receiver number (where do I find it),or do I go through Infiniti and have them activate it or is there something else?

Simply call them @ 1-800-967-2346. They'll walk you through the process. You do need to be in your car, though. They'll be asking you to turn the XM radio on and getting a number from a certain XM channel.

It's been a while but as I remember you have to tune to channel 0, that will give you your radio ID. When you call XM they will ask for that number.You can get this number and have it ready when you call them. They will tell you that you will then need to park your car in an open space and turn on the radio for 20-30 minutes.
