A couple of days have passed since the renewal date for my XM Satellite Radio and I am still getting the service.

After my free 3 month trial last year, I signed up for one full year. I've heard about other XM users getting a good deal when they renew (less than $100 a year).

How do I get this lower renewal rate?

Thanks!

Call the company and ask?

Just about everyone here who has gotten the 'deal' has done the same:

Call XM, complain about the renewal cost and if they don't budge ask them to cancel. Usually they will forward you to another rep and they will offer something better than full price to keep you. If it doesn't work, call back again in a few days and you may get a more sympathetic rep.

I do the same with my local cable operator, I have managed to get all sorts of freebies over the years. I call complaining, saying I'm a long term customer, why don't I get a deal like some new subcribers, blah... blah... blah.

So, I've had my Rogue for two weeks now and am enjoying the Sirius/XM trial, but it's a pain to get to the stations I like. Of course I can set several as presets, but since this is mainly my wife's car I can't really take over her radio settings.

Is there a quick way to jump to satellite channels without having to go one channel at a time? It seems like there should be something obvious I'm missing. My friend's add-on kit lets him type station numbers on a keypad -- is there a way we can do that?
